Video Coding Tutorial: How to find the number of islands in a matrix

When I graduated from college, I interviewed at Google. And failed horribly 😔

I recall one of the interview questions was: Given an NxM matrix, how would you find the number of islands in there?

I’m like… Wut? 😑

BUT… fast-forward a few years later, I’m now a professional software engineer and have some experience with coding. I try to explain the concepts behind how I would solve the same problem today.
